My name is Lance Armstrong and I’m on a mission. It started on Oct 2 1996 when I was diagnosed with cancer. It continues today. And every day. Since establishing the Lance Armstrong Foundation we have made significant strides in the U.S. But with 8 million people around the globe dying every year from cancer – the world must now be our focus. By 2010 cancer will be the #1 killer globally. We have no time to waste. Here in Australia cancer is already the leading cause of death. Rates for Melanoma – a cancer that is largely preventable by protection from UV rays – are higher in this nation than anywhere in the world.
